Creation & Shipping Times
Digital Creations:
Elder Futhark Rune Readings are delivered via email within 10 business days
Physical Creations:
I currently ship out packages every Monday and Thursday. If Monday or Thursday is a holiday in the U.S. (e.g. Memorial Day) I will ship out the following day. If there are delays for unforeseen reasons (e.g. inclement weather) I will personally contact you with an explanation and an updated timetable.
In-stock creations and personalized creations usually ship out within 3 to 5 business days of your order being placed.
Custom creations usually need about a week’s creation time, but might require more; if you place a custom order I will be in touch with you directly to discuss the turnaround time.
Orders shipped within the United States usually arrive in 2 to 5 business days, depending on the shipping distance from California.
Orders shipped to Canada usually arrive in 7 to 10 business days, depending on the customs process.
International orders usually arrive in 14 to 28 business days, depending on the destination country’s customs process.
Damages & Repairs
Damages incurred during the shipping process are the responsibility of the USPS and not Shieldmaiden’s Sanctum. I always ship my items in sturdy cardboard boxes or padded envelopes and appropriate Fragile or Do Not Bend notices if applicable. I strongly encourage you to upgrade your shipping or purchase shipping insurance if you are concerned about the safe arrival of your item.
If you purchase an item and it experiences an unexpected malfunction or defect after its safe arrival (e.g. broken necklace chain) please email kittie@shieldmaidenssanctum.com right away and I will be in touch to discuss our next steps. Should return shipping be required during the repair process, I will send you a pre-paid return shipping label.
Exchanges
In-stock and non-customized items may be exchanged by the original buyer for store credit within 14 days as long as the item is in original condition (not used, worn, etc). Buyer must pay return shipping.
Exchanges of custom creations will be determined on an item-by-item basis, depending on the type of item and customization involved. Please email kittie@shieldmaidenssanctum.com within 14 days to inquire about an exchange for your custom item.
Gift Wrapping & Packaging
Any item, including rune readings, can be sent to someone as a gift! Be sure to give the recipient’s shipping address at checkout for physical items, or the recipient’s email address for rune readings.
All physical items are gift wrapped before they are shipped to you or your recipient of choice:
Small items (e.g. lip balm, magnets) arrive gift wrapped in an organza pouch.
Medium size items (e.g. card stands) arrive gift wrapped in a linen pouch with organza window.
Large items (e.g. candles, decorative wood rounds) arrive gift wrapped in tissue paper with a Shieldmaiden’s Sanctum hand-stamped copper wax seal.
I am happy to include a handwritten personal gift message with your order. Be sure to include your gift message in the “Include A Gift Note” section at checkout.
Returns & Refunds
Physical Items: in-stock and non-customized items may be returned for a full refund by the original buyer within 7 days as long as the item is in original condition (not used, worn, etc). Buyer must pay return shipping. A refund will be issued via the original payment method once the returned items arrives and is determined to be in original condition.
Digital Items: downloadable items are not eligible for refunds. Elder Futhark Rune Readings are only eligible for refunds if the buyer cancels the reading within 24 hours of payment.
Custom Creations: due to the personal and energetic commitment involved, custom creations are not eligible for returns.
Shipping - Domestic (United States)
Use promo code SKAL for $5 off shipping on orders over $50.
Customers in Sonoma County can use the promo code LOCAL to waive shipping fees, provided they arrange for curbside pickup or designated delivery with me ahead of ordering.
I ship packages via the United States Postal Service (USPS). Shipping price is calculated based on the weight of the package + current USPS rates. I earn 0 profit off Shipping fees.
All my packages ship via First-Class Mail by default; after 13 oz (the legal weight limit for First-Class Mail) packages ship via either USPS Parcel Post or USPS Priority. All my packages ship with a USPS tracking number.
First-Class Mail packages do not come with insurance. If you are concerned about the safe arrival of your package, I strongly suggest you purchase additional insurance in case your package encounters complications during the shipping process.
Priority Mail packages are insured for up to $50. If your purchase has a value of $51 or greater, I strongly suggest you purchase additional insurance in case your package encounters complications during the shipping process.
Should your package be Returned To Sender, you will be notified and it will be shipped to you again. Additional shipping fees may apply.

Shipping - International
Once a package departs the United States, the USPS is no longer responsible for tracking its movement and arrival. It is the responsibility of the destination country’s shipping service to track and deliver the package.
Shieldmaiden’s Sanctum is not responsible for packages that go missing during international transit, and insurance is highly recommended in the event a package experiences complications during shipping.
Should your package be Returned To Sender, you will be notified and it will be shipped to you again. Additional shipping fees may apply.

Not all countries are cooperative with the United States when it comes to international shipping. Shieldmaiden’s Sanctum reserves the right to not ship to a country if the restrictions are too complicated. However, I will always do my utmost best to work with you, so please email me at kittie@shieldmaidenssanctum.com if you have questions or concerns about the international shipping process.
